I’m kind of surprised that we haven’t seen WOTC release or announce anything relating to Vecna. Even a short adventure for, say, Red Nose Day.
I would assume that they knew that “Vecna” would be featured in the new season of Stranger Things, which has been in development for two years now. (And yes, I’m aware that that’s not the real Vecna in the show.)
It just seems like a missed opportunity.

Well, what I'm suspicious of is that the guy with the hand and eye of Vecna in the concept art for the statue looks a bit like Hugh Grant with a beard.

The artist of the new art came out and said it was a collaboration between WoTC and the Stranger Things producers. ST later decided to go a different direction. Note the artist was a Magic artist. Note he has prints for sale of this art. Also the book kinda looks like it has a relief that looks like an obelisk.
