The Fairbreeze Inn is located at the top of a low bluff near the edge of an arid desert, the only comfort found across a wide area, and the only source of water. The Fairbreeze beckons to Adventurers and seems a pleasant alternative to another night camping out in the parched, rocky, wilds. Travelers can get a meal, a room, a bath, a massage, sell some loot, buy some gear, stable and shoe their horses, get some training, interact with a variety of characters, or pray in the shrine.
The Fairbreeze Inn holds all the essential services that travelers look for, plus more than a hint of danger. The Inn has been a place of rest for decades, but now evil has taken root. Prennagida, a murderous female Lycanthrope, and her henchmen now run the Inn and threaten all who visit. She lures travelers in, dominates them using a musical item of strong enchantment, and picks the ones to become her full-moon feast.
This short adventure site is intended for a small group of Adventurers of low to moderate level, L2 to L4. The evil can be subtle, taking several visits to manifest, or an immediate danger, depending on the lunar cycle and the Games Master. The Fairbreeze Inn is a self-contained location that is easy to drop into any campaign. Once your Adventurers have met Prennagida they will never again look at a simple country inn without more than a bit of suspicion. This module is written for Spellbook Games’ Portal to Adventure, but is simple to use with 1E or similar rule sets.
