eBay is good and bad, mostly good.
I like Dark Sun, so didn't sell that and when I go looking for it, the boxed sets are usually expensive. I got into a bidding war but stopped and $35 for the 2nd boxed set. The first boxed set, though, varies wildly. One might go for $25 but the next day an auction ends at $9.
(I remember when I bought Kindred on DVD. I bid on one that went for $40 and won one the next day for $17!)
As for gaming stuff, overall, it does seem to be a crap shoot, except with some stuff. My planescape stuff, which I never used, went for *at least* cover price, with some of them going for two to three times as much!
Birthright and Al-Qadim I was happy to get within 20% of the original price. Ravenloft stuff was almost a give away at $1 for non boxed sets and only $5-10 for the boxed sets.
Anyway, that's great that you got such a good price!
