Spider man 3: What we know and speculation

So,we finally got a title, after yesterday's trolling by the stars which gave use the following titles : Spiderman: Homewrecker and Spider-man Phone home and Spider man: Homeslice

The official title is :Spider-Man: No Way Home, what else we know: Doctor Strange is going to make an appearance,as will Alfred Molina will appear as Doctor Octopus, the same character he played in 2004’s “Spider-Man 2,” while Jamie Foxx will play the supervillain Electro.

Interesting. Molina's performance as Doctor Octopus was pretty good, though presumably this will be an alt-universe version of him rather than the original brought in via a multiverse crossover, since he did wind up dead as I recall.

My experience of that Spider-man movie was badly skewed by my science-nerdiness protesting at the ludicrous representation of atomic fusion. In particular, the idea of feeding the reaction with iron, and drowning it with water.

I think he sank into the dark water. No body recovered. So, normal comics logic says the may not be dead.

Once you have both Electro and Doc Ock, it starts sounding like the start of the Sinister Six...

so we are potentially going to have 3 spiderman's and 3 villians (electro, dok oc + one more). Assuming dr Strange is there to reset Peters secret identity? Wondering if this is going to also be tied to events from Wandavision (I wont spoil anything and its only a guess as of today)

I wouldn't mind if somehow they brought in the spiderman from the animated movie

The problem I have with multiple spidermen is sort of the problem Dr who has when you bring in more timelords
-splitting time between actors
-you probably have new spiderman fans who have no idea who tobey Maguire even is etc
-the spiderman movie with venom/goblin was kind of a mess because you had 2 many storylines. hopefully they figure it out
-these spidermen have aged . could have a 50 + year old playing spiderman. After a while it looks silly

Probably a good guess since the Vulture, Scorpion, and Shocker (although think he's dead iirc) have already made appearances. IDR who was in the Sinister Six in the comics, or there may be a few iterations, but looks like they only need one more or two, perhaps Paul Giamatti as the Rhino would be one.

Potentially. But it may be that some of this is on a cameo level, or "big Endgame fight" style, where many of the characters in the fight had very little role in most of the movie until the end.

No wonders I quit reading comics years ago.

The Sinister Six first appeared in 1964. That means, on average, they show up in a different iteration about every four years. That's probably on the order of the span of time most comics readers follow the medium.

Cross-overs, one shots and multiple titles per character doesn't help these days. I read Spider-Man on and off for years, I looked a few months to a year ago to start again but had no clue where to even begin so I didn't bother.
