Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory

Lately I've been taking a little vacation from World of Warcraft to play the PC version of Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, which is the third game in Ubisoft's popular Splinter Cell series.

In case you're unfamiliar with the games, the SC games are third-person action titles where you have to use stealth, cunning, and nifty high-tech gadgets to beat the missions (running in with guns blazing will usually get you killed). You play as Sam Fisher, an ex-Navy SEAL who now works as a secret agent for the NSA (National Security Agency). Sam Fisher is voiced perfectly by Michael Ironside, who appeared in movies like Top Gun and Starship Troopers.

Chaos Theory is easily the most impressive of the Splinter Cell games yet. The graphics are jaw-dropping, the missions are larger and have more replay value than in the previous titles, and the game includes an incredibly addictive new 2-player cooperative mode. This game also features Sam Fisher at his very best, and some of the conversations he has while interrogating his enemies are absolutely priceless.

Has anybody else been playing this game? Thoughts?

I saw the X-Play preview and I'm seriously considering getting this game. Not a big shooter fan, but I do like the stealthy Thief-type games. Stolen looks like it'll be a good game, as well.

I got the PC version, a couple days ago. So it looks DJ, I can play a online game with you. But my mike will not work. Will let you know when I have a it up and running.

I have it on Xbox.

The graphics can be almost too photorealistic at times as evidenced by my girlfriend interrupting me to ask "what movie is that?". :)

The animations and the ragdoll physics sometimes create ludicrous looking deaths.

You know the game is great when it's hard to come up with things to gripe about. :D

XBOX player here. The game rocks. just have to pace myself or I'll blow right through it like I did the previous 2 :heh: . If you're experienced with the previous games, I reccomend playing at the EXPERT level. I'm currently running through it at HARD and I've found it somewhat easy.

But as Truth Seeker said, this has great replay value. :D
