Spoilers: Question about the B4 EDWP Encounter

The two jackal lords have a DC 20 Will gaze attack that is effectively an instant death attack, as it is only reversable by a jackal lord, or by limited wish, miracle, or wish. The attack is usable once per day per jackal lord.

Does this jive with a EL 10 encounter? This seems a bit harsh.

Not having the new one, but having had the old one, I'd have to say that:

[sblock]While a DC20 Will save is not game breaking for a bunch of 10th level characters, and the party will probably triumph even if both are successful, that's still a bit harsh. Maybe it should be Break Enchantment or something instead?[/sblock]
