Don't know about you, but I think its a good time to be a gamer
I've been pouring over my Spycraft books and my Cthulhu book, and it occured to me that we've got some awesome tools to create a vast menagerie of our favorite fantasy/sci fi settings....
Spycraft can easily be tweaked to create a Buckaroo Banzai campaign.
Mixing Spycraft and Cthulhu to create an X-files like campaign, that slowly drives the agents insane.
Mixing Cthulhu or Spycraft and say, d20 Ravenloft to make a Buffy-like campaign. (There was that whole Initiative arc that'd fit in nicely)
(I realize I'm using Spycraft in a lot of these, but so far they are the best "modern" rules I've seen... so there ya go)
So my question(s) to you is... have you mixed any of these games to create some of the popular genre show or movie worlds? What has worked? Have you had any issues mixing rules from the different game books? Do you give your Cthulhu characters action dice?
Mostly, I guess I'm interested in meshing the themes and moods from one Big Book, such as Spycraft, with another, such as Cthulhu.
That, and I want a break from medieval fantasy.
Whatcha got goin' on?
