SR5 Character Reputation

Page 372 talks about reputation, Street Cred is a positive modifier to Social Limits when your rep is known. I am assuming that notoriety is a negative modifier to the Social Limit in most cases, but that is not actually stated anywhere I can find. Also, how does Public Awareness get used? SR4 made it more clear how to use reputation. Also Public Awareness was calculated in SR4, but it now appears to only be "awarded" by the GM.

In SR4, notoriety could be a positive modifier to intimidate or when dealing with criminals that approve of your notorious actions. I don't see that mentioned in SR5.
