SRD In PDF, Any bought it(Story in news)

Eh, now that I'm on broadband, I have no problem with just surfing into the website when I want it. And if it came right down to it, I could bookmark the site, and make it available offline, and it would always be right there for me.

Having it in a PDF document all bookmarked doesn't really make it any easier for me to use, and even if it did, it certainly wouldn't make it worth any actual money...

As to Anna's PDF, i think $7 is underpriced for the amount of work required to format all those crappy rtf files into something useable. If I would have done it, I would have charged $10.

Work ?

I did that like in June last year, it took less than half-an-hour. The bookmarking took 2 hours more.

Just convert the rtf's into doc's, link them together and then distill it - work done that's it.

Yup! Only 2 and a half hours. At my going rate, that'd cost me $95. Thank you Anna. :)

At your going rate, that's not the kind of work you'd be doing. I suppose you'd pay someone $95 to clean your house for 2 hours too? Wow! Need a house cleaner? Who needs to be a programmer, anyway?

Of course another cool thing is the free updates whenever the revised SRD is out. Anyone, like me, who has made the purchase is notified of where to pick up the (free) revised PDF with one click of the button on Anna's part. Very nice, indeed. :)

But I value it all the same, makes comparison shopping easier. And I've priced house cleaners. It ain't that great a savings.

Hi AGGEMAM,

Could you post it somewhere so we can all share it?

Might be a problem since my uplink (64K) is way too slow for that, sorry!

Besides it's the old version. I'll have a go at the released version and see what I can come up with.

So... how about some reviews, people? Does the hyperlinking work? Is the table of contents sensible? Does it include errata and if so, is that fact indicated?
