Star Elves

Well, I think you forgot the Fey'ri... elf tieflings.

Ah! Yes, fey'ri...actually my favorite "new" elf varient.

The Synnoran elves were missing from the Moonshaes.

I think the Moonshae elves aren't really a seperate subrace, just a distinct culture group like the Wood/Wild elves of the Wealdath.

Besides the racial overtones, pretty cool.

Racial overtones? Ah, yes...playing a member of a race that is bent on the absolute domination and/or elimination of all other races can be a challenge.
Not to mention the sexist overtones of a race utterly dominated by one sex. :D

I was under the impression the Lythari, weren't so much born as made. Not a subrace, but have to undergo a ritual to become a Lythari. Based on the tiny entry in monsters of faerun I'd guess they come mostly from wood elf stock.

Depends how you look at it, in 3rdedition they haven't really been mentioned much, but in 2nd edition they were as different from Moon and Gold elves as the latter were to each other.

Where can I find information about Star Elves? I know there's some in Unapproachable East, but there's not much there. Doesn't matter what edition.

Elaine Cunningham's new novel, Windwalker has a Star Elf as a supporting character.

The Lythari are sort of natural lycanthropes. They are elves able to turn into wolves at will. But they are not evil, don't go beserk, or anything.

They *can* also create new lythari by infectcing normal elves.....but this is always done with the elf's agreement, doesn't involve injury.....and the resulting new lythari retains his freedom of will, and control over himself when in wolf form.

I don't think it was intentional, but seriously. All the elves are good except the black ones? If I were WotC, I'd make my next elven subrace (because you *know* there's going to be one) black, good elves.

There are hints about the star elves scattered across several 1e and 2e supplements. there is much talk about the Yuirwood Elves and speculation about what happend to them. But you are correct in saying that UE is the first place to some out and say what happend and call them star elves. but from the very first mention of them they were spoken of as different elves than existed in other parts of faerun.

Really? Can you show me a passage or two? Since the History section on Aglarond in the Spellbound box set says every thing elven, in the Yuir, were created by Wild elves (remember also that in FR in 2e Wild Elves were the same as Wood elves) and that humans mated with them to make the half elves. There is no mention or hints of Star elves in Spellbound, and every thing left behind in the Yuir was created by the wild elves, until 3e retconned that.

Man I'm at work so I don't have any of the books in front of me, but I remember in Dreams of the Red Wizards it talked about the elves and called them Yuir elves, Yuirwood elves, and made them out that they could be different elves than seen before, more fey than other elves. it is also in there it talks about the scry proofness of the Yuirwood for the first time. have to check on that when i get home.

I don't what you guys are talking about.. theres ALWAYS room for more elves its those damned halflings you gotta watch out for.. I mean ANY halflings is too many, creepy little rodent race that they are.
Hey, I'll have you know that halflings are the coolest race in the whole D&D multiverse.

Of course, I do mean Dark Sun's man-eating halflings. NOT cannibal halflings, because they don't eat other halflings.
