'Star Trek' inspired NSA command center

Is the standard NASA control center layout the best? How do they know? (actually NASA probably did studies)

Oddly enough, one of NASA's more recent control center layouts (mid to late 90s I think?) and a lot of their task and workload distribution were designed in part by a team of film Assistant Directors.
