It has potential, NGL.

After ST:NG, I always wanted to see something superficially similar- a series focused on Star Fleet Academy.

First of all, much like the episode featuring a young Tom Paris, you could “test run” characters for roles in other Trek properties

Second, while the main focus would be societal, characters- students, teachers and administrators- could easily see outer space action in “semesters abroad” when they get assigned to short tours on starships or bases.

Third, between possible holidays, leaves of absence and the like, we could get episodes that focus on the homeworlds of different characters.

And all of that would also be possible within the framework of ST:United.

It could work and it's kind of what I wanted "Enterprise" to be; the birth of the UFP. I think it would work best if they didn't just concentrate on what was happening on the political side of the UFP, but also showed the incidents that instigated the political wrangling. It could also give us the Romulan War, that has been missing from the timeline.

One complaint I heard about the last movie featuring the original cast; it was just a bunch of old people sitting around a table talking about politics. Oddly enough, I liked those parts. I'm getting old. I would love to sit around a table and talk about politics. lol But, even in my younger day I liked it. It's story. It's character development. Yes it can have action also. The thing I love most about scifi are the ship to ship space battles.

Maybe a one shot movie like Section 31. See if it gets enough interest for a series. If it gets a series, make it a self contained story start to finish. Don't leave dangling threads in case it doesn't come back.

But... it wasn't. It was full of action. Waaaay too much action for those old poeple to pull off convincingly.
