Star Wars AT-AT mini.

Speaking of Star Wars, has anyone seen the new guy, General Grevious? I just saw a picture of him the other day, man he looks nasty. Apparently he's a cyborg - a mixture of flesh & metal, dual-wielding lightsabers. I read that he hunts Jedi for sport, and wears the lightsabers of his victims on his belt as trophies. Awesome

I think the gargantuan minis will truly be a rare thing as they're simply too big and too unique an encounter to be using on any sort of regular basis. That being said, they will make great desk/shelf ornaments. I'd love to see Tiamat made into a gargantuan mini.

The other minis there also look cool. Did anyone see those or did you just notice the humongus, gigantic AT-AT. I mean I might have nightmares from that beholder

Forget the minis game, these Star Wars Attacktix figures are neat and the AT-RT looks huge (but they didn't send me one of those -- sigh). I've been pushing the toys around, firing the weapons, and making lightsaber attacks for several hours now. While not as complex as the Star Wars minis game, there's still more complexity than I had expected.

Just one benefit of getting cool freelance assignments. The chance to play with new Star Wars figures before the official release. Some days I've got to love this job. :)
I hate you. I truly, deeply hate you. I don't want to wait until the 2nd of April to lose all of my money...I want to lose it NOW. I hate you so much.

My guess? If it were D&D, they'd sell it for $39.95. Since it's Star Wars, and they have to sate the Lucas license as well as cover their costs and make a little money, I'm guessing $50.00 or so.

Now, watch them say "$79.99" or something...

WotC_Rob has talked about this over on the WotC boards, but says there's no word on price just yet. I'd expect it somewhere between $30 and $50, though the aftermarket will probably be higher. I highly doubt it'll be $80, as that was the price for the TOY AT-AT, which was bigger than this thing is. Much bigger.

As for the packaging, its a single that comes with its own map(of course) and special rules. Gods I can't wait to use these in the RPG...

I wonder if that can beat up the Galactus heroclix........;)

I have a friend who is a huge Star Wars fan and a huge Mechwarrior fan, too. I know we'll be working on rules to have the AT-At face the Mechwarrior: Dark Age dropships. Even though the scales don't quite match up (with the AT-AT being 25 mm and the dropship being N scale).

As an interesting note, regarding the size:

At the Disney World MGM Studio park, they have a life-sized AT-AT walker. I have a picture of me standing under it. The positioning is such that the best place to take the pic has the "head" (guns and all) looking directly into the camera. :-)

That walker seems too small to me. Still very cool, but if the foot was supposed to crush a snowspeeder, it wasn't big enough.
