 Not often I get a chance to revel in my geekiness without my wife around to bring me back down to earth. :p

I'm totally with you. I remember when Battle of the the Stars came out. Here are a couple of other oldies for you. Ice Pirates... and Space Hunter.

Aaargh!! Yer making me feel old. :)

Little known fact about Ice Pirates; Bing Crosby's daughter was the female lead. And Space Hunter; that's the one with Molly Ringwald, isn't it?

I played the X-box version all the way through and I have to agree that I din't think anything would ever make me want to play Star Wars RPG agian, until Knights. The Era is so appealing because there is little continuity to contradict and Jedi are plentiful. Making it possible for more then one, let alone one, character to be a Jedi.

I work at Barnes & Noble so I'm planning on picking up several of the Star Wars books during our holiday discount days. Besides the core book which books have others found the most useful?

Lessee. If you want Jedi stuff, check out the Dark Side Sourcebook (pre Revised tho), Power of the Jedi and some of the Hero's Guide (3 PrC's I think). If you want races out the wazoo then Ultimate Alien Anthology.

As for some inspiration, try picking up the Dark Horse trades of Knights of the Old Republic era stuff. There's like 4 or 5 TBPs.

Minor correction: It's Battle Beyond the Stars not Battle of the Stars.

Did you notice that Robert Vaughn's character is almost exactly the same as in the Magnificent Seven? Similarly, Sybil Danning was in another Magnificent Seven remake with Lou Ferrigno called Seven Magnificent Gladiators.

Back on the subject of Knights of the Old Republic for a minute. I have been thinking that I am going to pick up the strategy guide for the game, which provide enough stats for transfering thing over the Star Wars D20. The crystals for the Lightsabers for example. Some of those would be great additions for the rpg, since Jedi have to make their own lightsaber eventually.
