Star wars SAGA cover?

It's May now? I'd thought it was March. Guess I've been out of the loop.

In Jedi Counseling #100 (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=starwars/article/sw20061214jc100) it was said to be March, but that was posted back on Dec 14, 2006. Since then it has been moved to coincide with all the 30th Anniversary Star Wars merchandise we're sure to see.

Too bad, I was all ready to buy it this month. I just hope the extra time is well spent polishing and playtesting the rules.

I think this project has had the most comprehensive development process I have ever been a part of. I, at least, think it's a much better book for it.

Good to hear! I'm not only interested because it is Star Wars, but for all the d20 tweaks and changes too. Plus, I really don't want to have to buy a fourth core rule book anytime soon. ;)

Out of the loop for quite a while. I believe the May release date was announced late January/early February. It was more to coincide with the 30th anniversary of ANH, but as it gave Rodney, Owen, and Gary more time to further polish the new ruleset, it's all good.

It makes me wonder about something else, then.

At the RPGA's "D&D Experience" convention in mid-February, they indicated that they *had* been planning to make a big announcement (presumably, a new RPGA campaign), but, due to some unspecified issues, they had to delay the announcement until GenCon Indy this summer (RPGA tends to reserve big announcements like these for their two "members' meetings", at those two conventions).

One of the popular guesses for this new campaign has been a new SW campaign -- the original Living Force campaign concluded last year, and earlier work on a "successor" campaign in 2005 and 2006 had been shelved due to WotC not supporting the SWRPG at that time.

One wonders if Lucasfilm (which had to approve *everything* in the original Living Force campaign, and, presumably, would hold the same approvals over a new campaign) decided that they didn't want it announced until after the Saga Edition came out (or, at least, until closer to that date).

*Shrugs.*

That's the way with product licensing. We're at the whims of the IP owner (or licensing agents employed by the IP owner).

P.S. Any reason why I can't visit SWRPGNetwork.com and the Holonet forum?

Here's the official site, as referenced on the front page of news here:

I am not less excited about it, but I would like a few more details.
Interestingly, it uses the same art as on Amazon, so it might not be a placeholder.

I'm curious about the square aspect though. Are there any non-RPG SW books that are big and square? If so, it could be designed to look good next to them on the shelf.

AFAIC, WotC is responsible for disclosing information to Amazon (usually months in advance). So they did gave Amazon the same placeholder.

If that's the real cover, they need to change some of the lettering, especially the names of the authors (sadly, JD Wiker is not one of the main authors).
