Another idea if you don't want to use commlinks to have people track you like Jihahna is trying right now... its not perfect but you could have the Force Users use Telepathy (also under the basic Use the Force skill)...

Telepathy: As an Action you can send a telepathic call, single thought or emotion to one creature. Against an unwilling creature you must exceed their Will Defense. The creature must have an Intelligence of 3 or great but does not need to speak or understand your language, but you have to have at least casual knowledge or the being. Make a Charisma (Use the Force) check DC vs. a DC 10 if you can see the creature, DC 15 if the subject is on the same planet as you are. Increase this to DC 20 if in the same system, 25 in in the same region or quadrant of the galaxy and a DC 30 if in a different region or quadrant of the galaxy.

Hmm. How long does Sense Surroundings last? And would it allow targeting in the dark, or is it for noncombat purposes only?

Its basically round by round... although in a noncombat situation I would allow it to last a bit longer, maybe a minute...

Based on where Cal thinks the sound is coming from, does he perceive any way to get a better look at what is waiting for them without being seen himself (i.e. alternate alleyway, climbing a building, etc)?

You could try and climb onto a building or you could have Reks use his Jetpack to get up to one but no stealth there. An Athletics check is going to be 15 but will also take a few minutes (20 if you want to rush it).

You could try and Stealth to a area you think you could get a look but you would have to go through some of the pitch black area so it would be a bit dangerous depending... no penalty to your Stealth though it would be vs. the target's passive Perception.

I should add there are some step pyramids also nearby but you don't think you would get as good a look from there (but they would not require a climb check)

So with Cal's initiative roll the heroes will all be going first in combat, but I would still like everyone to roll. Targo will go on this Gand's turn and Reks on Kacela's. Most of you will probably have to Ready your actions and it will have to be semi-specific (I wait for an enemy to appear is not quite good enough, I wait for an enemy to appear from that general area is).

Now the Rancor is the only creature not under cover (but only from Cal and Kacela). It is however in Total Darkness this turn. Kacela can 'see' it with her Use the Force skill roll. Remember a lightsaber provides light out to 6 meters and Dim light out to 12 meters.

Also if you are readying and planning on Attacking, make your attack & damage rolls
