Neither one shows anything to do with the life debt.

In both, Chewbacca was already seen with Solo, and then acting as a team.

Nothing about how the two got together.

Was Chewbacca about to be executed? Was he being ransomed for something which Solo paid?

I did not see anything to explain the life debt Chewie has with Solo.

If you’ve seen the trailer why did you post wondering what might be in it?

The Chewbacca life debt was only ever in the expanded universe, all of which is non-canon at this point. It's entirely possible they won't include it at all. I certainly won't miss it - I always preferred to consider their relationship a friendship, not an obligation.

I like the 'life debt' becoming a true friendship angle and would really like to see more of Kashyyk and Wookie culture in the movies (plus having arm rending as standard military practice would be gruesomely spectacular on the big screen
