Stargate SG-1 {Spoiler Talk} 3.4.05

The problem with the Wraith is that they just... aren't.

No culture. No society. No personality. No history.

They're just vampire-people who hiss a lot, have really big ships and hibernate. There's no character to any of them, so there's nothing to fear. Which is vastly disappointing.

I hope next season, they actually give us a Wraith with personality and we can learn about their culture. Otherwise, they're nothing more than boogeymen.

Was a very good show, lot of action and interesting moments. To me it looked like Daniel and Rep-Sam beamed away.

The above notes on the Wraith are how I feel too, they have defined a lot about them, see humans as food, weapons are stunning not killing (keep PCs alive loophole), cause fear (ships) and mind fog, they just have not come across as a good big bad yet, show needs to focus on one and build character.

I hope RepliCarter didn't get away. I haven't been a fan of the Replicators ever since they started producing humanoid ones. IMO, they worked better as an "early Borg-like" threat, an implacable, unknowable foe. I love seeing the little (and big) bugs. I hate seeing the humanoids.

Interestingly, the Wraith as currently described function much like I want the Replicators to, and I'm not a big Wraith fan either. Not sure why that is.

Frankly, as Atlantis villains go I have come to hate the Genai far more than the wraith. I keep hoping that the US will finally get the Prometheus to Atlantis and it will make a little side trip to teach the Genai a lesson, preferably by taking their stargate so they will be permanently confined to their homeworld instead of going out and making trouble.
