Just caught up to the rest of the series through Netflix. Depressing to think that a sci-fi series for grown-ups can't find an audience. Of course, I had to laugh when I came to this thread and seeing it evaluated on the basis of space battles and stuff blowing up.
The ending was pretty near perfect. It's great that it doesn't have a happily-ever-after ending like Voyager did. it's great that it didn't cop out and portray it's protagonists as being ultimately invincible. It's great that it wasn't glib just for the sake of appeasing the detractors who regard a lack of glibness as being "emo".
So long, SGU. And hello to infinite seasons of Ghost Hunters and Scare Tactics.
