Starship Thread

I haven't been following O.L.D./N.E.W at all, but I see that your ship building rules have the same problem that Traveller's did. If the PCs want to have a ship that can fight anything other than the weakest of foes, they have to spend buckets of money and hire a like amount of crew. IME most players do NOT want to do that. They want a ship that their half dozen or so characters can handle by themselves, that isn't going to get blown away by any decent pirate ship, and which they aren't going to have to spend most of their gaming time worrying about how to pay for. Some do, of course, but not most AFAICT.

There are plenty of other options for ship costs in the rule book
