Starting d20 Star Wars

I think that the two most usefull supplements are the Alien anthology and the Arms and equipment guide. I say that because it has always seemed to me that one of the important parts of the SW flavor is a universe overflowing with strange creatures and wierd bits of specalized tech scattered around and the core rulebook really only covers the basics in these areas.

Everyone has pretty much mentioned the Arms & Equipment guide, so that'll be my next purchase for d20SW (or is it SWd20?). that and the Ultimate Alien Anthology, because critters are KEWL!!!1!!

:heh:

Is the Rebellion Era Sourcebook any good?

SWd20 :) And yeah, A&EG is a great book. Lots of droids, weapons, and such. The best part is really the weapon mod rules. If you're wanting lots of starships, pick up Starships of the Galaxy. Its pre-revised, but you can find updated stats(mostly speeds and shield/hull ratings have to be changed) online. Its a VERY good book. It might be out of print, though...

Ultimate Alien Anthology, because critters are KEWL!!!1!!

Warning that the UAA only has aliens. No actual creatures. You'll find those in Ultimate Adversaries.

If you don't have much knowledge of the Era beyond the movies, I'd say it is most definitely worth it. I know far too much about Star Wars and I still loved the book, though its much more a 'fluff' type book to give you the idea of what's going on in the galaxy than a book with stats. It is pre-revised, so if you use any stats, make sure to fix DR and Defense values for armor, etc.

For updating pre-revised characters and similar things, check out this site:

Starships of the Galaxy -- Well I am running a game with smugglers and they like to upgrade thier ships so it is very handy.

This was quite fun. I enjoy building ships and such (which is why I have Battletech, and GURPS Vehicles, and Car Wars, and, and, and...), and it's not bad.
