Well, apparently you haven't seen this.
It's an oldy, but a goodie.

Did somebody say medusa?
I used a medusa that turned things into solid gold. Anyway, when you hit a party member with it, it makes the really greedy PCs very confused about whether they really need their party member back to flesh or not.
If they are good aligned, they won't try to sell a statue of a still living humanoid that happens to be stuck in solid gold form. If you want to be more evil, make sure you turn the most "goody" PC into gold, and then watch all the fun as the party argues back and forth. [and dont let the golden PC "chat" with anyone!]
