Stat Penalties and Wildshape

Corwin of Amber

First Post
I have a player that wants to play a Jermlain Druid. Before I say yes to this, I want to know what to expect.

The stat bonuses are -8Str, +6 Dex, -2 Con, -2 Int, +6 Wis, -6 Cha.

Will all of the penalties be erased once Wildshaped?

Does he keep his own HP when wildshaped?

Will having a low Cha affect his animal companion's behavior significantly (via Handle animal/wild empathy)?

1. Wildshape replaces physical stats.
2. HP remains the same.
3. Well, it'll make it harder to meet handle animal DCs but it's not going to make it rebel against the druid.

Ok, that's reasonable. Thanks.

I was more interested in the possibility of the animal simply not responding to his command in battle and acting on its own (eg, possibly starting to flee/attacking the last thing that attacked it/not being 100% aware of the possibility of AoOs). I'm not too sure on the mechanics of ACs, but it seems that such a steep Cha penalty would definately have some effect (of which I will warn him before letting him use the race).
