Stats for a cane-sword?

So, any ideas on how to stat out a cane sword--you know, a sword hidden inside a normal looking cane?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Well, depending on the quality I'd havea spot DC 20 or 25 to notice that the cane was something more. I think it would be small sized, and probably equal to a short sword.

I would stat it just like a rapier.

But mabye a pound or so lighter.

AEG's Swashbuckling Adventures stats its Sword Cane as an exotic weapon with the same properties as a rapier for the blade portion. As an additional property of the weapon, when weilded as a cane instead of the bladed insert, it acts as a club that deals 1d4 damage.

They allow weapon finesse (sword cane) to apply to either use of the weapon. Their version also carries a -1 penalty to AC when fighting enemies wielding fencing blades (representing fighting with a weapon that lacks a guard).

And there you have it! I agree with using rapier stats, though I don't think I'd give it the same threat range. I'd change it to 19-20, or maybe even just 20.
