Steampunk info

Works for me. Write into your character profile that you are the patentee for the Insta-Owzer Mark IV, a drilling apparatus / ore extracer. I'm sure you could even talk about parts like Milo in that Atlantis movie.

Ok Guys I think you actually helped. I could be an inventor of steampunk mining equipment, so inorder for me to sell these equipment I need to know some mining stuff (in victorian era) correct? Cause I need to have some connections to my tinkering, merchant and mining.

Now that makes more sense. Go for it. :)

The Auld Grump, snuffin' up the coal dust into yer lungs,

I have wondering this for while and was if you new, since you did agood job of helping me. What would a typical a victorian steampunk inventor-magic user wear? I tried finding a pic online nothing I could find.

Thanks again.

Well, a real-world victorian inventor would probably wear a white lab coat over a slacks and white starched shirt kind of outfit. But that's no fun! I'd go about it this way - clothes that he'd use when needed - a heavy leather apron, glass goggles (almost like old motorcycle goggles), and heavy, elbow length work gloves for inventing/building/welding work; heavy and sturdy wool pants, work boots - if you want to be eccentric maybe have them be more along the lines of cowboy boots made out of rare animal skin; white linen shirt with sleeves rolled up to the bicep (assuming he does a fair amount of physical working on stuff). Maybe a bow tie, normally left untied but which he can tie up if he needs to look presentable - say, for a potential investor in one of his inventions.

If you want authentic victorian wear for an inventory: we're going to have to figure out which kind of inventor you are:

There are two sides to Invention
-Insperation
-Persperation

Does your inventor tinker endlessly with large parts, engines, ? or does he sit and think until something strikes him and work on it in a tiny cramped notebook?

Tinkerers might wear clothing more befitting a blacksmith (Heavy leather gloves, Thick apron)

And for the thinker, a smart, white labcoat buttoned across the front, like this...

You have to remember, that even under that lab coat, the inventor will still wear what every other Victorian era man would wear: a suit. Starting from the ground up, that would include shoes or boots, spats (for shoes only, depending on the era and fashion), stockings (almost like dress socks of today), underwear (either a knee length, short sleeve unitard affair, or something with longer sleeves and legs), trousers (length dependant on location and type of footwear), braces (suspenders to Americans), shirt, waistcoat (vest to Americans), tie (various styles, some looking like loose bowties), and jacket (usually taken off and replaced with the labcoat). When he is outside he will wear an overcoat (depending on the weather) and will always wear a hat. A man of at least modest means will also wear gloves outdoors.

Not every Victorian man. Every Victorian gentleman. The non-gentlemen (meaning, basically, anyone who sweats for a living) would not wear a suit. An inventor who gets dirty isn't going to wear a suit.
