First Post
I'm looking for some d20 books that deal with steampunk. I'm not famialr with any off of the top of my head, so I'm hoping some people out in postland will know of some.

look into D20 Deadlands, very steampunky. The biggest change will be to ignore the fluff that the Steampunk is all based off "ghost rock," a material made of tortured souls.

If you thought DnD's Alchemy/Craft skills were lacking, the core d20 Deadlands book will rock you with it's Mad Science rules.

My vote would be to take a look at Privateer Press and their Iron Kingdoms setting... you can find their website at:

www.privateerpress.com

which links to both their campaign setting site and their minis game site...

PS: The Privateers prefer the term "Full Metal Fantasy" and I think think it fits their setting to a T ;-)

I second Deadlands. It's great stuff there.

My own setting is steampunk, by the way, so if you want to see the skeleton of a steampunk world in the works, click on Relative Entropy (granted, the technology chapter is still in the "coming soon" stage, but the technologist class is all finished).

I'm currently running an Iron Kingdoms game and I love it. The setting book hasn't come out yet, so you have only the three modules (all very good, though you may notice some design issues with the antagonist). the website, and Lock and Load: an IK Character Primer for setting details.

I really enjoyed the Forbidden Kingdoms book for more steampunky goodness, including some of the mad science rules from deadlands if I recall. The book does reprint some OGL stuff from several sources, but contains a lot of original info also.

here's a question: how many of these steampunk settings and sourcebooks don't mix in magic as well?

i really love the steampunk genre, but i don't particularly care for settings where steampunk technology and magic are mixed together. something like Castle Falkenstein doesn't hold my interest, whereas something that was more like the "scientific romances" of Verne, Wells, and Doyle would be right up my alley.

i like my steampunk to be just "steam". :D

as far as roleplaying goes, the closest i've seen is a handful of Marcus Rowland's Forgotten Futures games, and of course, Space: 1889. i'd really love something d20, though...
