Stink in Ship's Towers

"A thieves guild seeks this sorry smuggler. I want in that golly guild. A merry match, if you ask me. Too bad he must be warned by now, after the events in the crusty Crab."

" Uh-huh... " intones Kathan. " Well, our ' employer ' wants the Eel too... alive. I'm thinkin' that we won't be able to bring 'im in if we hand him off to your friends, but would it be helping you for your bunch to know you helped take him off of, presumably, their streets? "

Looking to his fellows, Kathan asks, " If either of you're havin' any bright ideas, I think they've waited long enough. "

Khuther stands still a bit away watching the woman no sure if he wants to trust her. 'you got any more information on the Eel?' 'Something that could help us to talk with the Captain of the ship he probably uses to smuggle his goods with?'

"Don't truly think it'll help me much, K, depending on your employer. So the escape-prone Eel is on the Angelina? I hear the captain's far too honorable for his own grumpy good. Probably expects his class crew to be the same." She laughs at Kenn's words, seemingly assuming that they were directed at her. "Work on your believability, freeze fellow. Gotta go now." With that, she backs away.

Kathan steps forward, his arm reaching out a little.

" Hold on a second, " he says. " If we are to stay in this city, sooner or later we will likely be needing an underworld contact again. Perhaps you can be that contact. This time the game has gone to us, but that doesn't mean we couldn't scratch your back if you'll scratch ours. "

Letting his arm fall back to his side, he says, " My employer is only being my employer when I'm having a job. Otherwise, I have no allegiance that should be of trouble to our conducting business, and all bets are off. "

" Good enough for now, I guess, " says Kathan. " We've got to get to work. How could we contact you again, assuming we live through this? "

"I've got a few 'dead' mailboxes I check periodically, pal. For you... two piers north of the Crab is a wornout warehouse, mostly abandoned. On the northwest corner, a boring board is loose, and can be drawn back a bit. Put your messages there."

Kathan nods appreciatively. " Thanks then, Cami, " he says, " 'Nother time, maybe. " With that, he turns to scan the docks further ahead, and says, " I guess it's time to get goin' then. Let's not leave the good Eel waiting. "
