Another good option is a fishing pole tube. I suspect that it might be sturdier than the art tube, as an added bonus. If you're a truly discerning gamer, you can get one that is made of finished metal with decorative, engraved, end caps.

A cheaper way would be to go to any store that carries plumbing supplies. Look for a length of PVC plumbing pipe in whatever diameter works best. Get a cap for one end, a female connector for the other, and a clean-out plug to screw into the female connector. A little cutting and a little glue and you've got an incredibly sturdy tube.

I've been seriously thinking of using gaming paper and some carrier to stuff them in. I run a lot of RPGA and I'd hand draw the maps and keep them in a tube or two. This thread has been a huge help. Thanks!
