Storage of the two-bladed sword

I'm creating a character the has proficiency in the two-bladed sword and starting the game with it. I have never done this before. So, my question is, how is a character supposed to carry this weapon when it is not being wielded? I can't figure out how it might be done.

I suspect that the design that Hypersmurf referenced is the only practical method of carrying a two-bladed sword (if not of fighting with it) - that is, a sling of some sort connected to the two sides of the handle, and a pair of covers for the blades to keep them dry and reduce the likelihood of cutting random objects as you walk.

edit: It would be awkward to uncover the blades and put the covers in your backpack, so a warrior would carry his two-bladed sword uncovered in hand if expecting to fight.

Two in the front, and two in the back, of course.

Hong "but the really interesting question is, how do you get a dire flail in a mini?" Ooi

Yeahhhh, all right. This really makes no sense to me. If you see a monster it is giong to take what 5 rounds to even get it out? And how is the strap supposed to lay on your body, over a shoulder or over the chest.

Depending on your level you could use an Efficient Quiver to store the weapon, but since you said you're 'starting' you won't have one of those at 1st level.

Some weapons simply have no scabbards. You walk around with it in your hand.

Spiked chain, greataxe, all polearms... maybe the two-bladed sword is one of them.

That is, until you get your hands on a glove of storing.

I'd just put one end in a normal-ish scabbard/sheath or something and be careful when I took it out...
