Trailer Stranger Things 5

I guess, but people working in theatrical productions can see when there's chemistry and charisma. They also often rehearse out of order and, for much of the time, without costuming, make-up or sets.

Maybe looking at all of this stuff through screens and watching for the technical aspects of it all during filming makes it harder to focus on the performances.
Movie actors don't rehearse prior. They learn their lines the evening before the shoot and they do takes in situ, in the moment. The text can change the morning after (like Boromir at the Council of Elrond). Sean Bean had to read new text tapped to his knee. Sometimes, they don't even see each other because they have stand-ins to give the replies.

That's definitely a part of it. You're focused on getting what's on the day list. It's also one of the reasons they have to shoot pick-ups later on.

One thing I haven't heard about is whether Kali (a.ka. Eight) is going to show up in this final season. In a traditional fantasy epic, the side characters would all show up for the final battle and certainly Eight and her crew would bring useful firepower to the big battle against Hawkins.

But the audience generally haaaaated the episode with Eight in it, so I can see the Duffer Brothers not wanting to poke the bear by bringing her back.
