Strap Yourself In...WFRP, Here We Come!

Can someone fill me in on how the rules of the new version work, or point me to a good review of them? I read the new Green Ronin book in the store Friday, but I have ZERO experience with Warhammer.

Our party is a Human Footpad, Dwarf Soldier, and my Human Initiate of Sigmar.
We're starting just outside of Middenheim right after a major battle in the last incursion of Chaos.
First session is supposed to be in the next week or so.

Percentage based skill system vs. task difficulty
I think there is a review at RPG,net, let me see if I can find the link.

RPG.net should have like three reviews, at minimum, of the new Warhammer game.

I tried in my review to approach it as a brand new thing and to cleanse my mind of older images and ideas of what the game was.

Thank you both!

Warhammer never interested me back in the "olden days", I was just curious what the new game was like and whether it successfully captures those things which make the older version fun for its fans.

I am really happy the way the game flows. I have not yet gotten the opportunity to play or GM with it but I think I will get the opportunity in a few months time when another campaign I am in takes a small break from things.

Very much so. The only thing it lacks in comparison to the old version is the amount of setting detail (including the bestiary) - but apart from that, it's still one of the most fun RPGs around. Life is still nasty, brutish and short, and the PCs are the usual bunch of desperate misfits who get into more trouble than they can cope with.

It's perfect for a break from D&D.

Can I play? I'd like to be "Gordon 'Venus Flytrap' Sims." That's one jive talking vinal spinner...

I figure I need a good bluff score to score with the ladies, lure them to my trap, while keeping Andy and Big Guy Carlson off my back. Maybe if I get to level 12, and bypass Johnny for the morning run, I get a shot at that grade 'A' piece up front, Jenn. Damn she's stacked. Fever really screwed up when he announced that one contest prize was $5,000 dollars instead of $50. Leave it to 'ol Venus to come to the rescue. Hope the GM doesn't throw me too many personal appearances, nothing worse than hanging with Les and Herb down at some car lot or store opening, like that time down at Del's Stereo and Sound! Hell, we were held up by a guy that time.

Anyway, I wonder if cool threads give you a AC bonus, perhaps if I work in some sequins, I can get some sort of sparkle bonus or at least a chance for better initiative with just my 'wow, that's cat's cool' factor.

Oh crap, just saw the title again, W "F" RP, looks like I'll just have to wait some more for the ultimate DJ box-set... Perhpas someone will design the all 70's and 80's sitcom sourcebook!

Listen-up publishers, there's big demand for this product.
