Strength Clerics Getting Away With Warpriest Domains

Anyway, the point being divine power source is a mess. There are now 6 clerics, 4 paladins, avengers (yet another divine warrior!), the invoker in its various configurations, and the poor runepriest crying in his corner.

Well, to be fair... the runepriest isn't really a divine class. It only got shoehorned in because the more logical power source (arcane) already had an abundance of classes in it.

Claiming that the gods power runes is a tenuous justification at best. For that reason you could make any class a divine class. Heck, warlocks are closer to a divine class than runepriests are, because at least they are granted their powers from a planar source.

On the topic of arcane Runepriests, if they were thinking, they would have made them a new build of Artificer. Kill two birds with one stone. More support for one class and one less class to be left twisting in the breeze.

Well, there you go! Just call the Runepriest a new Artificer build, and voila! That solves the problem everyone has about neither class having enough support! Combine them into one class and change the primary ability of all runepriest powers to INT and you've got plenty! ;)

Heck, in my Eberron campaign I have assigned Monks as a divine class since you, know... monks are supposed to be religious and all. LOL.

RB is still a beast post nerf.

Domain features suck compared to Healer's Lore and the atwills for sun and storm are not on par with RB. Death has a great one but you're weapon based not imp.

Go Str Wis and you have all the tech you need.

You could houserule domain stuff to work with brand clerics... but why? You already have the nut draw.

Well, in terms of support, options, and effectiveness the STR cleric in general is pretty much on a par with the Warpriest. People have complained for long and long about lack of support for STR clerics, but the real truth is it is a very effective build. You have limited options at some levels, but nowhere near as limited as a Warpriest has...

The real trick with STR clerics in any case is maintain a strong secondary WIS. You lose out on riders for a couple very good powers, but you get strong healing and massive melee buffs plus fairly reasonable damage output. There's no real shortage of good powers and you can always pick up one or two WIS powers. The STR cleric in our game is human, she picked up Lance of Faith as a 3rd at-will and is perfectly capable of using it effectively now and then. I'm sure there are various Warpriest powers that would work too, especially since most of them are weapon powers.

But I would love to see a paladin/archer warlord hybrid that don't penalize your character to wearing hide armor so you can have bows. Would be cool to look at your paladin riding a horse then firing an arrow from his bow to kill an enemy running away.

There is. Dont take Archer Warlord. Take superior prof in a good bow instead. Ranged Warlord powers work without that feature.
