im interested in a striker leader hybrid. what are some effective combos?

I am a powergamer but wont do the cold cheese combo and im not into builds that rely on specific gear.

any suggestions? im mosly interested in heroic tier effectiveness, since its for living forgotten realms.

i was thinking a laser cler with sacred flame as its "at-will heal", what would be a good second half splash for that?

i would like to have the level 1 encounter power as a heal also, since i only have one healing word. is there one that hits on wisdom or doesnt need to hit to allow a heal? i remember the one in the phb 1 needed strength.

Healing Strike is it for level 1 encounter attack powers that spend a surge -- but it's strength based; you could do a fun build with Healing strike, Righteous Brand, and Barbarian for the Strength Striker half (taking Thaneborn Barbarian powers and probably the hybrid talent).

Elf Archer Ranger|Cleric works quite well, though I'd prefer to use Sacred Flame if and only if someone needs a save. (Edit: MC Shaman for spirit and extra heal if you need it.)

I've been recently pondering Runepriest|Barbarian as an interesting option.

I know you are looking for Striker as a secondary but should you wish to lean in more to support the party, consider defender as the other hybrid class. I have been playing around with several hybrid combos and found that cleric/warden is an amazing pair.

what at-wills would those builds use? i

wait- for 1 feat you can MC shaman, and get an extra encounter heal AND a spirit? how does the spirit work? can you only use it 1/encounter? seems like a great deal.

can you have a str 20 without gimping such a build?

I don't have the build infront of me but if im not mistaken I went 18Str/16Wis to better utilize my Wis. score. Also this build isnt as much a central healer as a cleric but more of a battle healer for the front line, who in my opinion are the only ones who should need constant heals if your group plays right.

I personally would use twin strike and sacred flame. There is rarely anything better to do with an at-will, than to twin strike. On the odd occasion when someone is really stuck (immobilized, stunned, etc), sacred flame can give them a save.

2 feats. Spirit Talker and Mending Spirit. Spirit Talker gives you Nature, summon spirit as a standard action, companion spirit opportunity action option you can use as an encounter instead of at-will, and daily speak with spirits. And of course you can use shaman implements. Mending Spirit gives you once per encounter healing spirit.

I've long had a thing for bards, so in my collection of made-but-unplayed characters there's a bard-rogue and a bard-warlock. I tended to build them more striker than leader just because I'm currently playing a leader & was therefore looking for variety, but power- feat- and skill-choice can make a big difference in which way they swing.

My bard-rogue takes melee powers from both classes and uses the hybrid talent feat to get Artful Dodger, so he can be all over the battlefield as necessary; I gave him one or two ranged powers for versatility. I made sure to take bard powers that grant combat advantage for sneak attack and rogue powers with a lot of movement. Give him daggers & then he's got even more flexibility with regards to choosing ranged vs. melee attacks and can move in close to do damage or step back to support as needed. This one's a halfling, because those racial bonuses make him a little harder to hit.

The bard-warlock takes ranged bard powers instead. My favorite combination was a gnome feylock/bard, but that ends up being very sneaky and very controller-y, so not what you're looking for, I think. The non-fey warlock powers are more striker-y, so there's plenty of opportunity to find damage-dealing powers, whether or not you use the hybrid talent feat to get a pact boon. Gnomes and half-elves work well, here, depending on whether you want to lean more towards stealth or versatility.

A bard/sorcerer with Sorcerous Blade Channelling would make for an interesting, but probably fairly fragile, melee-based leader/striker. As was recently mentioned in another topic, the sorcerer has options that make it unpleasant for enemies to be nearby. Choose bard powers that buff nearby allies and sorcerer powers that damage nearby foes, and the defender will love to stand next to you and try to keep them from hitting you.

These two seem pretty intriguing to me, though there are probably gotchas:

Thaneborn Barbarian | Inspiring Warlord

Artful Dodger Rogue | Valorous Bard

Not hybrid, but my next character (some day) is going to be a rogue + MC bard. I'm looking forward to it.
