Stupid High Skill Checks and Saves

Errr... no. As of the last book, there were about a thousand Aes Sedai, nearly twice as many Kin, nearly a thousand novices recruited by Egwene, nearly five hundred Asha'man, several thousand Wise Ones that can channel, at least five hundred Windfinders, and an ungodly number of damane.

like I said, not a whole lot.

Thats some

1000 Aes Sedi
2000 kin
1000 novices (so, worthless)
500 Asha'man (of levels we dont know)
2000 Wise Ones
500 Windfinders (only good on water, or sensing climate change, or wind direction so that their ships sail safely and smoothly)
and an untold amount of damage (say, 3000) unless you know real numbers.

thats like 10,000 in a world of some millions. Its a drop in the bucket. (compare that with Forgotten Realms? There's like 10,000 wizards in some cities alone. Some nations are pure magic users.) Now, I know that world is a High Magic world, but I'm saying this to say that WOT isn't a high magic world. And, they all have codes and rules that allow them to only use their powers in certain ways, and in certain situations. Where as, as I was talking about, in DnD, its what the caster wants to do. *unless the Dm puts down rules of his Tower, or rules for those who cast magic in the world* There are no true guidlines for what can and can't be done and what society feels about it.

In the WOT, the Aes Sedi cant use their powers to attack. How well would that work with the standard DnD group.

anways.

If I can do something that basically means 'I win the fight', always works, and doesn't count as attack, I'm thinking not such a big deal.
