Subscription to threads

Elocin

Lurker (sort of)
I seem to be having problems with doing this in my preferences. I have clicked on several thred to subscribe to and it states that I have been subscribed to them but I never get an e-mail notification saying that there is a new post. I have to constantly look through each topic and search for the threads I am involved with. Can anyone help me out on this as I am pretty sure I have everything set up correctly but still nothing.

Thank you in advance.

You'll get a better response in the META forum.

Personally, I've had no problems subscribing to threads. Are you using a valid email address? Are you auto-subscribing when you post to a thread? Remember it won't notify you about the same thread until you visit the site again, so you need to log on each time when you visit EN World (or just turn on cookies to you log on automatically).

I am using my work e-mail address and I am wondering if something is not getting through the firewall. But I have not had any problems before about e-mail. I have a yahoo account that seems to not have any issues with my company e-mail address. I have cookies enabled so there is not a problem there with logging in and out of Enworld. So I have no idea what the problem is.

Thank you moderator for moving this to the right forum. Forgot this forum was even here.

Hmmm. Not only that, you had "email notification by default" on, which should be emailing you constantly. I turned it off, to see if there is any change.

Thank you Piratecat I will give that a try and if that doesn't work I will just have to keep a look out of the threads I post to. I would put in my personal e-mail address but my work does not like it when I check my personal e-mail. Anyway, I thank you all for the help.

Well I put in my personal e-mail address in for notification and it worked just fine so it has to be my work's firewall, darn them. Anyway, I thank you all for the help.
