Succubus Paladin - Yes or No

In the WotC adventure "Lord of the Iron Fortess" a trumpet archon, an always lawful good creature is fallen and became a lawful evil Blk2

Yeah, I thought of this example too of an 'always good' creature becoming a 'paladin of evil', don't see why it should be a problem the other way around.

Slight Hijack: in said adventure said evil Trumpet Archon used banishment on my wizard, who had spell turning running. Sure enough, the spell rebounded, and the Trumpet Archon didn't get SR against the banishment, since you never get SR against your own spells. :)

But better yet, after failing its save, it was sent back to its home plane! I don't think he received a warm welcome back in the Seven Heavens. :D

The DM sure looked depressed after one of his top opponents just banished himself in the first round of combat.

By the RAW.. Succubus Paladin: Yes or no?

By the RAW: Yes, but only one. Lawful good succubi are either unique or very rare, and paladins are only a tiny minority of LG peoples (look in the demography sections of the DMG).

With regard to the summon ability that a succubus has....

Assuming the paladin has a deity (as opposed to the abstract "good" or "honour"), I think it would make sense for said deity to remove the summon ability completely. I mean, as a god, you would think that you would have some power over your worshippers. Better yet, make it a requirement or rather a willing sacrifice on the part of the succubus. What better way to show your devotion than to relinquish an innate part of your being?

I don't know, I'd think said god would like the idea that the succubus paladin would have that constant temptation to backslide into evil, making her current goodness all the more honest and precious.

Just for grins (and to see what the guru, Hyper, had to say), here's a question.

Can a Lawful Good Succubus become a Paladin?

Already answered, but since you wanted my input, I'll just throw a "What they said" chit in.

"Always Chaotic Evil" uses the D&D definition of 'always', not the dictionary definition.

A Lawful Good succubus fits the requirements of the Paladin class... namely, alignment Lawful Good.
