My apologies if this already exists somewhere, but to my knowledge it does not.
I think WotC should post stats for the iconic D&D characters (Regdar, Mialee, etc.) on its website. At minimum the stats should be for starting, low, medium, and high levels but creating stats for every level from 1st thru 20th would be even better.
Why you ask? First, it would give new players an example of the classes from starting to high levels (thereby showing how a character progresses). Second, it would provide standardized pregenerated characters that could be utilized by anyone for pretty much any adventure (only Core rules should be used). There are already D&D minis for the iconics; there should also be stats for them as well.
I was thinking that it would be great for one-shot campaigns to enable players to just pick one of the iconics, select the appropriate D&D mini (WotC really should sell a set of all the iconics, IMHO), and whammo! they're ready to play. And a DM that runs many different games with many different groups would quickly become familiar with the iconics and would know what to expect and prepare for.
Does this sound unreasonable?
