Suggestions for Non Dungeon Crawl Adventures

My DM doesn't use published adventures. He has a distaste for dungeon crawls. He also happens to have a distaste for stat blocks. This often results in the group playing in offbeat settings with offbeat game engines.

Though there isn't anything wrong with that. I do enjoy an offbeat game too. There are times, however, when I want to play D&D. ;)

So... in light of all that. Can you fine folks give some suggestions for published D&D adventures that don't involve dungeon crawling. Or if they do... only just slightly.

Thanks,

I'd say adventures like X1: Isle of Dread or WGA6: Isle of the Ape are adventures that play mainly outside. Or you use city adventures like the WGA series, though they are not top notch they can be made quite interesting with some DM love. Kingdoms of Kalamar: Garden of the Plantmaster is another one.

Thanks for the tips.

I should note that I'm not necessarily looking for "outdoor" adventures. Afterall an "outdoor" adventure can have the same feel as a dungeon crawl. The only difference is that you're in a forest instead of a dungeon.

I don't personally have any problems with dungeoncrawl-like adventures. I, in fact, enjoy them in appropriate doses. Heck, most of the adventures I've ever played (going back to my first ones in that long ago summer of '81) were pretty much standard dungeon crawls.

I'm just hoping to find something that has some intrigue and doesn't necessarily require the PCs to embark on a constant barrage of "open door, clear room, go to next encounter". I think it will help my DM... and give me the benefit of actually playing D&D here and there. :)

Wow. Nothing like really narrowing down the options. Dungeon crawls and wilderness crawls are out.... :\ So, what about city/town adventures? Or planar adventures? Underwater adventures? Do these mesh?

the adventure book series have a few good city mystery type adventures. A few political ones as well. The books are 3.0 i believe but it honestly won't matter.

You also might wnat to check out Wotc's website at their published adventure. Their adventures are always small and are different in variety.

Finally you might want to look at other sources for inspriation. NOt dungeons and dragon stuff but mystery games, political stories and such.

I know, I know... it's just that if I give my DM some kind fo "enviornment crawl" I know he'll thank me kindly and continue on his merry way.

City/town adventures would be great. Planar adventures might work too. Basically, it should be less about crawling and more about exploring or investigating or infiltrating or some such.

Like I said... I don't have a problem with crawls, but my DM certainly does and I want to give him something that he will actually use. :)
