Well, they don't know it yet, but my players are going to have another old-fashioned dungeon crawl soon. The last solo I threw at them ended up somewhat underwhelming, as a level 3 party, they took off 130+ HP in the first round of combat with it. I'm looking to provide a more challenging encounter this time around.
I'm always scared of overtuning, but I think this is what have made my last encounter so underwhelming. They didn't just beat the monster down real fast, the monster hardly did any damage to them. So, I thought I'd get some feedback on this monster before I throw it at them (the name obviously is a placeholder, but I do intend for it to be an ettin):
I'm mostly looking for mechanical feedback--the adventure tools seem to think this is acceptable damage for the level, but I do hope it's not underwhelming this time around!
