I see how you are reading the chart. So you take each 1d8 of the weapon damage and convert it to 2d6 to get 4d6. Then you take each of those d6's and change them to d8's. Than makes more sense. I did wonder why my colossal sword only did 2d12.


Thanks for the clarification. It would have helped if the example given in the DMG was for a Huge to Gargantuan sword like your example. Then there would be no chance of misreading the chart.
