Sun School Ideas

I'm looking at this feat in Complete Warrior called Sun School. I see the tactical "Inexorable Progress of Dawn" and it says that if I hit with the 2 first strikes of a flurry of blows then I can have them move back 5 feet.

I plan on having pounce on my character build. What are some awesome or funny things that can be done with this part of the feat or the feat all together? I can imagine there is a lot of stuff that I am not thinking of right now.

Early, you can get 3 attacks a turn with ankhlets of teleportation( just make a copy of anklet onto another body slot by finding a npc with magical crafting) by trading your move down for an swift action. teleport*smack*, teleport*smack*, normal attack. Not entirely practical but seriously cool.

Combining inexorable dawn with knockback 'should' cause an attack of opportunity as he should be cumulatively pushed back 10 ft. but you won't be able to catch up with him for the rest of the attack. Handier if you have reach. You can carry a reach weapon in your hands and fight perfectly well with your feet as a monk so there is really no excuse NOT to have one. If you have the book 'from Stone to Steel', there's a weapon called Yueng Guen. It is a weapon traditional to real-world Shaolin monks so you might be able to argue for proficiency as a monk. Same story with meteor hammer which does little damage but has 10 ft extra reach instead of the normal 5..

If you're going to argue for proficiency with a reach weapon, try the Kusari Gama. It's got monk flavor and it rocks.

Pages 144-145 of DMG

- has 10' reach
- 1d6 damage (20/x2)
- weighs only 3lb
- threatens adjacent and reach squares
- can be used for trip / disarm attacks
- eligible for weapon finesse

Well Yeung Guen has 1d8(20/x3) but trip and finesse are awesome depending on your build. Anyway, sunset flash is awesome with snap kick feat. 2 attacks everytime you telesmack.
