Sundering armor?

Does it make sense to attack someone's armor in an attempt to destroy it? Is it worth the bother? Any ideas on the hardness and hit points of armor types?

In my post on the above thread I discussed how we do it in our group. It rarely comes up and was designed to eliminate the destruction of Armor instantly (except on a critical, but that's also a custom critical).

They are other suggestions on this thread that are worth investigating as well.
