Super-Villain Begs Gamers Not to Buy *Deeds Not Words Revision 1.1!*

April 28, 2003-- Still reeling from a series of painful body blows, the once-mighty and maleficent super-villain Baron Azathoth begged gamers everywhere not to buy *Deeds Not Words Revision 1.1,* the brand-new revised and expanded edition of the popular d20 supers system from Cryptosnark Games!

"I just haven't the strength to resist a group of heroes armed with its larger, more flexible character creation system," Azathoth gasped as he crawled feebly toward his personal escape capsule within his shattered underwater base. "180 super-powers, 119 new spells, 45 psionic skills and talents... it's all too powerful for me. And the editing and layout! Too... clear for my tastes. It makes super-heroism too easy, and too much fun."

As explosion after explosion rocked his sunken sanctuary, Azathoth smiled grimly. "Ah, but this is the fruit of my own hubris. My agents revealed to me the technical specifications of *Deeds Not Words Revision 1.1.* Why didn't I listen? I can still recite that report as though I had just read it...

"*Deeds Not Words Revision 1.1* is a game system that faithfully preserves the most familiar elements of the d20 system for maximum player utility, while investing those elements with as much flexibility as possible for maximum gamer satisfaction. With three Modes of Play (Classical, Modern, and Gritty), even the world the characters adventure in can be adjusted to reflect the GM's desired atmosphere. *Deeds Not Words Revision 1.1* is designed to emulate every sort of modern heroic archetype, from caped vigilantes to suave spies to acrobatic "gun fu" pistoleers.

Slyly written, deftly illustrated, and obsessively detailed, *Deeds* weighs in at a monstrous 376 pages in PDF format, and is invitingly priced at just $11.95. Written and designed by Scott Lynch, it also boasts artwork from Darren Calvert and Jason Lego.

"As you can see," Azathoth whispered as the world grew dark around him, " I never stood a chance. I therefore... reduce myself to begging. Don't buy *Deeds Not Words Revision 1.1.* Super-villainy is difficult enough as is! Don't make it any tougher on us... by giving your players such a powerful tool for making justice... fun."

With a final shudder, Azathoth let himself fall to the ground, just a few feet short of the door to his escape capsule. The steel walls of his underwater base buckled around him, and power cables fell from the ceiling, trailing white-hot sparks.

"The... misguided... fools.... never... even... tried to buy me off... with... delicious... fruit pies," Azathoth hissed as he passed into oblivion. "Curse you, *Deeds Not Words Revision 1.1!*

Should you choose to disobey the once-mighty Baron Azathoth and seek to dish out some crime-bustin' d20 righteousness,*Deeds Not Words Revision 1.1* is now available at:

I can only imagine the magnitude of villianous whining soon to commence. :)

I'm looking forward to reviewing the changes from v1 to v1.1, and thanks for making such a cool system!
