This really reinforces how closely this is following the storyline from the amazing Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow miniseries -- so, so good. If anything, the grungier Guardians of the Galaxy aesthetic improves things, IMO, since the Moebius-inspired art by Bilquis Evely didn't really suit the tone of the rest of the story, as amazing as it was.

In the comic, Krem of the Yellow Hills is kind of a pretty boy, which is a confusing vibe and his fellow raiders are pretty anonymous. Turning him into a Mad Max freak definitely works here.

And Millie Alcock is nailing the sadness and melancholy of the miniseries' take on Supergirl.

This should be great.

I think I will see this in theatre. The national slight that prevented me from seeing Superman in theatre is somewhat counterbalanced by the additional imperative to give female-led movies a boost in a time of <insert potentially rules-breaking political observation here> .
Plus Supergirl is played by an Australian, the main villain is played by a Belgian, and it was mostly filmed in the UK. I'm with you on mostly boycotting a certain place, but I feel like I'm okay with this film.

This is looking pretty great. Momoa looks just right as Lobo, which is hardly surprising.

I’d be a little less sympathetic about violence against dogs if said dog has 20 HD and can solo a dragon, but in the original story (as probably here) Krypto is mostly a normal dog after red sun exposure. It’s a great story and I’m looking forward to seeing them put it on screen, and I’m really glad they did a bit of prep work in Superman last year.

I now really want to see one-armed friend to all creatures raised by Circe Wonder Woman on the big screen too.
