Superman | Sneak Peek

what did you not like?

Even taking into account that the meat of the teaser doesn't seem to be a major turning point in the story, the music felt really phoned in - the same unremarkable, featureless, generic, low-budget filler stuff we've been hearing since before the first LotR movie. Sounds like an advertising sample from a virtual instrument library. The tired harmonies, rigid homophony, boring orchestration, the trite Hans Zimmer treatment... Not everything needs to be John Williams, but at some point Hollywood started settling for interchangeable themes that are barely motifs (looking at you, Silvestri's Avengers), three or four progressions/cadences, and the increasingly mundane percussive hits of whatever synths Zimmer keeps in the basement of his second summer house. yawn

I have score issues. I'm aware, and I'm working on it. No, that's a lie. I'm not at all working on it.

First, the dog is adorable

As for the trailer itself … my apologies to those that are excited, but WOW does this like stupid!

Heck, I like Nathan Fillion, but he looks ridiculous.

I’ve never been a fan of Gunn, but this certainly helps explain why he was fired …

I mean, if you don't think there is meaning and power in the LotR soundtrack, I don't think anyone can help you.

Yeah, he only directed 2.5 Billion dollars of Marvel films.

Oh, no disparagement on Shore's excellent and effective score there; it suited and supported the films beautifully. Just pointing out that, twenty-five years on, we can find another more appropriate musical language for the Man of Steel.

so regarding the robots in the Fortress of Solitude, the first one says not to thank them as they have no conciousness, then No 12 is introduced at her voice modulation appears to be female and excited - is that just suppose to be a bit of flavour before they get wrecked or does it bode for something deeper (ie Brainiac?)
