For the times when you really don't want to be interrogated: how much would a one-use-only item that casts destruction on the wearer cost? Assume that if someone is willing to use this, they're also going to forego their save.

well, if you use Tome and Blood as a guide...

any spell, single use, use-activated is spell level *times* caster level *times* 100 gp, so 9100 gold

if it were possible to put poison in a capsule or something, Black Lotus Extract costs 2500 gp, and does 3d6 Con initially (and secondary damage, too). if someone were to forego that save, they'd be dead in one minute, guaranteed :D

only problem is that in a high fantasy world, death is not always an escape from interogation...

little resurection, or even speak with dead, and there goes the 9100 that could have been used on equipment to keep you from getting captured...

First, you can choose not to be resurrected based on who's casting the spell; and second, speak with dead requires a body, and destruction doesn't leave one behind.

So if you cast true ressurection, does the body reform only to not recieve an unwilling soul, or does the soul say "hell no!" and no body appears?

Seeing as body and soul are seperate, wouldn't it be fun to:

a) cast true ressurection, body appears, soul won't come.
b) cast speak with the dead, and threaten the death of near and dear ones, if you don't accept to come back?
c) cast true ressurection, and get the info at your leasure!

Of course it would have to be pretty important information...

But speak with dead explicitly says it does not communicate with the true soul, just the memories held in the body. So you can't effect the soul's decisions.

So is there any sort of animation spell along the same lines as speak with dead which creates an undead but with a semblance of the departed soul?
