Survivor All-Stars Premiere AND 2/05 SPOILERS

Edit: Since the thread is short and its only been 3 days rather than week, I'll just add episode #2's opinions to the bottom of the thread.

I meant to start this thread earlier so I could make my predictions.
I called the Rupert-Rudy alliance and the Ethan-Tina allaince, but I really thought that Rupert and Rudy would vote WITH Ethan and Tina, oh well.

The most interesting dynamic for me is Rob C and Rob M. Two great schemers that SHOULD work together...but will they? Rob M already has Amber in his pocket, I'm guessing Rob C will align with Big Tom and those twosomes will dump Alicia and Sue.

The Mogo Mogo tribe is a mess. It could really go any which way. But with Tina already gone, I hope someone continues to be nice to me and dumps Colby next. All Outbackers need to leave. Season Two Sucks. :-D

Would love to see what happens if Richard, Rudy and Sue all make the merge but I don't see it happening. Lex, Ethan and Tom is another potential interesting threesome at the merge.

I'm rooting for the Robs, but can you imagine a final foursome of Rupert, Rudy, Richard and Tom? Priceless.

Was excited about it. Watched it. Yawned. Okay, maybe it was because it was on from 11-12PM on a Sunday instead of 8-9PM on a Thursday, but I just wasn't able to get into it. Based on the lack of responses to the original post I'd guess that I'm not alone here.

I only watched bits and pieces of the first episdoe since I was on the 'Net at the time.

Frankly I hope the big guy with the beard from the last survivor wins it all. He carried his tribe during the last survivor and they got rid of him and fell apart.

Frankly I hope that none of the folks from the first Survivor make it. Especially the nekkid gay guy (I think his name is Richard). Rudy is to surly and Sue is too much of a grouch.

I'll watch the last episode, but I don't care what happens between now and then. Right now all I see Survivor as is a fill in between Big Brother's.

Seemed to me Ethan blew it when he started with the "a championship team should get another shot at the championship next year" analogy. Not very bright to remind the other four that they all lost while Ethan won, nyah nyah.

Then again, maybe it was bright. Ethan is now an orphan within that tribe, and hence not much of a threat. There's a pair of two-person alliances that will see each other as a bigger threat. So if and when they lose another challenge, Ethan's the swing vote who'll be courted by both pairs.

I find Richard's strategy interesting, I hope they spend more time with Mogo Mogo on Thursday's episode - I have a feeling he's trying to establish himself as no threat at all so someone else will look more dangerous if/when they go to tribal council. Considering the huge target he's sporting from the start, it'll be neat to see if that works.

Heh, at least they'd eat. From the way he looked at the Pearl Island finale I'm betting Rupert goes pretty far, but I dunno if any of those others will make it.

I think this one has the potential to be quite entertaining. Some of the strategies employed so far are intriguing. I would love to see Rupert pull it off and make it to the final three at least. I'll have a better feel about the various tribe dynamics after a couple more episodes.

Well, I think that part of my problem with the first episode is that I don't find it "fun" to watch people who are dying from thirst. Giving them non-drinkable water and no obvoious way to light a fire may be a good example of expecting them to have real survival skills, but I find that it takes away from some of my enjoyment. Of course, I'm totally amazed at the absolute stupidity of the groups given that it appears that at least one member on each tribe has a pair of eyeglasses. Hasn't anyone ever heard of using a magnifying glass to start a fire?

I never saw the first season. Was Richard Hatch such an unmitigated jack*** the first time around? All I could think while watching him laze around, gloating over what a great survivor he was, was "what a (expletive deleted)".

Interesting how all those experienced survivors started out focusing on the individual game (alliances, etc) -- they have to win the team bits first. Oh, yeah, and survive.

Yes and No. He was, but he wasn't this bad this early into the game. Whereas Jenna won Survivor VI by flying "under the radar" (which it looks like she's trying to attempt again) Richard won Survivor I by flying "over the radar" in that he made himself into such an obnoxious jerk that he was kept around until the final two becuase everyone wanted to go up against him in the end to win by default. His strategy only worked because the person he was finally up against had ticked others off even more by stabbing them in the back.

I just did not seem to be as excited about this one as the others. Granted, I was excited. But, I dont like over half the contestants. One of my favorite survivors has already been voted off. I think that Silvermoon may have a good point about the megar supplies.

Anyway, my personal opinions about each tribe and its memebrs...
Saboga Tribe:
I want Rupert to win. As far as his tribe goes, I think that voting off Jenna or Rudy would have been a better idea. Tina is a stronger person that Jenna or Rudy, and that they should be concerned with Team strength right now not about who has won previously. But if played correctly, Jerri has a huge chance, at least until the merge. Ethan has dated both Jerri and Jenna on the Survivor tour circut. That could be good for him, or very bad for him.. :p

Mogo Mogo tribe:
I hate Richard. I hate Jenna M. Everyone else from this tribe is OKAY...I would like to see either Shi Ann, Kathy, or Colby from this tribe go further..

Chapera Tribe:
I never liked any of these contestents. I did not hate Tom. But I did not want him to win either. I do HATE both the Rob's. Of this tribe I would like to see Susan or Alicia advance further because I think they would both make it an interesting show. But if everyone from this tribe leaves of starvation.. I could care less.

If I had to pick a second person that I would like to win, I would probably pick Jerri. I dont know why, I have always liked her even when she's a bi#*h. Her or Colby.. Second season was my favorite.

Having seen what they have to work with, I came up with at least three different ways each tribe could have used to start a fire that is more effective than the "vigorously and ineffectually rub two sticks together for an hour" method.
