I'd probably leave some cryptic but fairly easily translatable cypher that tells survivors where to go for shelter or gathering together; depends on the situation.

For instance if we were holed up in the Washington Monument,

"555 and 5.5 -- by the reflecting pool" or something like that.

After all, who knows if the zombies can read and reason, after all? No sense inviting more trouble than necessary, even if some survivors miss out.

It's 555 and 5.9, and I am pretty sure very few people know the reference
