Survivor Palau - Early favorites?

Ghostwind

First Post
Well, the newest Survivor series has three episodes under its belt and we're finally starting to see some personalities emerge and some mental games being played. So far, the one trible has dominated on the immunity challenges primarily because of the strength and endurance of Tom (the firefighter). I definitely see him in the final four unless their is a fundamental shift in the power stucture, which may happen as soon as next week based on the previews. I also like Stephenie and Angie (the girl with the tattoos) as early favorites to go far in the game.

Who are your choices so far?

ROB AND AMBUH!
oh wait, thats amazing race. sorry.

i think im rooting for the redneck. as usual i prefer the players who remember that this is a game and not a social interaction
tattoo girl was way too defeatist at the beginning of the game. that turned me off to her cause right away.
tom has zero chance of winning. hes made himself way too much of a target.
dolpin boy might be a contender.
but this season reeks of "annoying girl flies under radar and wins"

hopefully that won't happen.

Stephanie, only woman to finish last night task, sure she was on the losing team but not her problem.

Tom is strong and seems to be in charge.

Overall it is still too early.

Tom's whole team just seems more cooperative and willing to work together ... the others are just completely dysfunctional.

to be fair we haven't seen much of the other tribe (other than shark hunting)

Tom is cool. Ian is my favorite though. He's skinny and a bit geeky, but he seems physically as tough as any of the uber buff dudes (such as Jeff, pre-ankle injury). Ian also seems to be the strongest swimmer out of anyone there.

The problem with the loser-group is that they voted off their team leader in the first vote. Another leader emerged, and they voted him off last night. Based on the preview for next week it looks like they will continue to be both clueless and leaderless - thus prompting an early reshuffling of the players to keep the show from getting too predictable.

Its hard to say much because we have mostly been focusing on one tribe. But I would guess Ian as a strong favorite. Not to pushy, nice, and strong, but not strong enough to be a target so early. In the other tribe i would guess Stephanie, but she has strong opinions that may get her kicked off. I was happy that Jolanda was off early...

Jolanda made too many loud and wrong decisions early on. And she was annoying.

Tom is great but there will be a plot against him as soon as people get an opening to take him out. It could happen at the merge. Seems like he would dominate the majority of the late challenges.

If Stephanie can keep her mouth/plotting in check she could go far. She has to make sure she doesn't piss off the women. In the past, the female survivors get more catty as the game goes on and become less tolerant of each other. Just like the guys get more paranoid.

I like this one so far. There are some interesting personalities to route for/against.

Well, no real surprise for this episode. Ulong loses and Kim goes home. She had a good last minute strategy that showed how smart she really was in trying to get the women to vote against the guys, but it was too late. If she had employed this strategy much sooner, the outcome could have been different. Looks like next week might be the standard "shake the tribal membership up" rotation. If it's not, Ulong will lose again and be down to 4 members which will necessitate some kind of merge.
