I though everybody else loved the Kobold? What is causing its undoing here?

The lizard-Kobold abominations must indeed die, for they are usurpers. Kobolds are yappy little dog-men, not dragon-wannabees.

Sorry for diving in this thread, I'll return to my flagon of grog once again.

Kobolds are great. But statblock in Volo's is not for actual kobolds, but some idiotic joke race that goes around loudly groveling in the middle of combat, like the 2e Complete Book of Dwarves gully dwarf. And then, for some reason, needs to rest an hour before it can grovel again. And then to add injury to insult, has +2/-2 ability modifiers; even the orcs, who get a -2, get to have the standard +2 and +1 as well.

And kobolds have always been lizards, or at least scaly egg-layers.

I went back about 5 or 6 pages - there was a -2 to Kobold that was missed, the Yuan-ti got dropped and then added back again, but that is all I could find.
